Live Production Technician
About Me
A quick introduction to the person behind the console.
I'm Mason Hintz, a live production technician and Rock Valley College student who spends most of my time behind consoles, in booths, and under pressure. I work across lighting, audio, show control, and video — programming ETC Eos desks, building QLab playback and sound systems, and running OBS and ProPresenter workflows for live and streamed events. I graduated from Harlem High School in 2026 and now study at Rock Valley College.
I like productions where every department clicks. Whether I'm programming cues, mixing FOH, or troubleshooting mid-show, I focus on clean execution, clear communication, and making the creative vision actually happen on stage.
I'm always sharpening my skills in live event production and system design, with my sights set on professional theater and live entertainment.
What I Do
Tools, disciplines, and responsibilities I bring to every production.
Lighting
Programming lighting cues, operating consoles and follow spots, and working with light plots and DMX patching.
Sound
Setting up microphones, operating soundboards, patching audio, and running playback with TheatreMix and QLab.
Projection
Programming projection visuals, creating motion graphics, and supporting live-stream productions.
Carpentry
Building sets and installing scenic elements as part of a stagecraft team from plan to performance.
Management
Stage managing student productions, coordinating crews, and keeping schedules on track backstage.
